Cold Plunge in Calgary
Cold water, warm welcome.
Ice-cold plunge tubs right beside a big cedar sauna, in East Village on the Bow River. Never plunged before? Our team will walk you through your first round.

Your first cold plunge
Start with a few seconds. That's enough.
Almost everyone is nervous before their first plunge, and most people leave wanting another round. You don't have to be tough. Go slow, keep breathing and get out whenever you want.
- 1Warm up in the sauna firstHeat first makes the cold much easier to step into.
- 2Step in slowlySit down until the water reaches your shoulders, if you can.
- 3Breathe long and slowThe first few seconds are the hardest. Long exhales help.
- 4Get out and restWarm up again in the sauna or the lounge, then go again if you like.

Plunge + sauna
Better together.
Switching between the sauna and the cold plunge is called contrast therapy, and it's what most of our guests come for. A typical visit is a few rounds of heat, cold and rest.
Read the contrast therapy guide for timing and tips, or see our sauna.

Questions
Cold plunge questions
How long should I stay in a cold plunge?
Start with 15 to 30 seconds. Many regulars work up to a couple of minutes, but there's no prize for staying in longer. Get out whenever you want.
Is a cold plunge the same as an ice bath?
Close enough. Both mean sitting in very cold water up to your shoulders. Our plunges are built-in tubs kept cold for you, so there's no ice to haul.
I've never done a cold plunge. Is it for me?
Yes. Start with a few seconds and build up. Our team will walk you through your first round.
How much does it cost to cold plunge in Calgary at The Good Spot?
Sessions include both the sauna and the cold plunges. Express (45 minutes) is $29 and Regular (1 hour 45 minutes) is $37, plus GST.
What should I bring?
A swimsuit and a water bottle. Towels, robes and sandals are included.
Who should not cold plunge?
Heat and cold are intense. If you're pregnant, have a heart condition, high or low blood pressure, or any other health concern, check with your doctor first.
